Zangbeto is a traditional Vodun masquerade from Benin (and neighboring West African regions), in which costumed performers covered entirely in colorful straw embody night guardian spirits believed to protect communities, ward off evil, and enforce moral order—often showcased at festivals like those in Ouidah.
