Hoffmanns Erzählungen
"Hoffmanns Erzählungen" (The Tales of Hoffmann) is Jacques Offenbach's opera about the poet E.T.A. Hoffmann, who recounts three tales of doomed love to guests at a tavern while waiting for his beloved Stella—each story featuring a mysterious antagonist, often embodied by his nemesis Lindorf, who thwarts his romances with Olympia, Antonia, and Giulietta.
