*Le Barbier de Séville* (The Barber of Seville) is a famous French comedy play by Beaumarchais (1775), also widely known as Rossini's opera, in which the clever barber Figaro helps Count Almaviva woo and win the beautiful Rosine while outwitting her overprotective guardian Bartholo.
