Lucia di Lammermoor
*Lucia di Lammermoor* is a famous opera by Gaetano Donizetti, based on Sir Walter Scott's novel *The Bride of Lammermoor*. It tells the tragic story of Lucia, a young woman forced by her family to marry against her love for Edgardo, leading to her descent into madness—famously portrayed in the celebrated "Mad Scene"—and ultimately to both lovers' deaths.
