Katharina Von Bora
Katharina von Bora (1499–1552) was a former nun who famously escaped her convent in a herring barrel and married Martin Luther in 1525, becoming a central figure of the Protestant Reformation. As Luther's wife, she managed the family household, hosted Reformation figures in their home, ran a brewery, and helped shape the model of the Protestant parsonage and clergy marriage.
