Die Räuber
"Die Räuber" (The Robbers) is a play by Friedrich Schiller, first performed in 1782, about the conflict between two brothers — the noble Karl, who becomes an outlaw leader, and the scheming Franz, who tries to steal his inheritance and bride. It explores themes of justice, rebellion, and moral corruption within family and society, and helped launch the German "Sturm und Drang" literary movement.
