MURMURATION
A murmuration is a mesmerizing natural phenomenon in which thousands—or even millions—of starlings fly together in swirling, shape-shifting flocks, creating fluid, wave-like patterns across the sky, typically at dusk before roosting. Scientists believe the birds flock this way for protection from predators, warmth, and information sharing.
