ABD AL MALIK
Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan (r. 685–705 CE) was the fifth Umayyad caliph who reunified the fractured Islamic empire after the Second Fitna (civil war) and made Arabic the empire's official administrative language. He is also credited with beginning the construction of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and instituting the first Islamic currency.
