Le Mariage de Figaro
*The Marriage of Figaro* (1784) is a comedic play by Pierre Beaumarchais in which servant Figaro outwits his aristocratic master, Count Almaviva, who tries to seduce Figaro's bride-to-be Suzanne on their wedding day. Its satirical jabs at the nobility made it controversial in pre-Revolutionary France, and it later inspired Mozart's famous opera.
