The Gewandhausorchester under HK Gruber performs a concertante staging of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's opera *Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny*—one of the great scandal works of the Weimar Republic—nearly 100 years after the orchestra gave its 1930 Leipzig premiere, with a cast including Wallis Giunta, Lauren Michelle, and Florian Boesch.
