Der gute Mensch von Sezuan
*Der gute Mensch von Sezuan* (The Good Person of Szechwan) is a play by Bertolt Brecht in which three gods search the world for a good person and find only Shen Te, a poor prostitute—but her goodness leaves her unable to survive, forcing her to invent a ruthless alter ego, Shui Ta. The parable ends with an open question, challenging audiences to rethink how goodness can survive in an unjust world.
