**VAE (Variational Autoencoder)** is a type of generative neural network that learns a compressed, probabilistic representation (latent space) of data, then uses it to reconstruct or generate new samples like images or text. It works by training an encoder and decoder together while minimizing reconstruction error and keeping the latent distribution close to a standard normal distribution (via the
