Musique concrète
Musique concrète is a form of experimental music that uses recorded sounds from the real world—such as environmental noises, spoken words, and mechanical sounds—as raw material, which composers then manipulate and edit into musical works. Developed in the 1940s by Pierre Schaeffer in France, it pioneered techniques like looping, reversing, and splicing tape to transform everyday sounds into art.
