# Ewigkeitssonntag (Eternity Sunday) Ewigkeitssonntag is the last Sunday of the church year in German Protestant traditions, observed on the Sunday before the first Sunday of Advent. It focuses on themes of death, eternity, and the "last things" (eschatology), and is often used to commemorate deceased loved ones—similar to All Souls' Day—and in some regions it serves as a memorial day for the dead
