Gothic Opera presents a Halloween staging of Halévy's witty, gritty opéra-comique *La Dame de Pique* (1850), never performed since its premiere, loosely based on Pushkin's novella and set in the dying days of the Ancien Régime. Sung in French with English surtitles and new dialogue, it features emerging singers and a chamber orchestra in a tale of ambition, strategy, and survival.
