Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers was a legendary American jazz group led by drummer Art Blakey from the 1950s until his death in 1990. Known as a premier showcase for hard bop, the band served as a launching pad for many great jazz musicians—including Horace Silver, Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, and Freddie Hubbard—and produced influential albums like *Moanin'* and *A Night in Tunisia*.
