"Heilig Vuur" (Holy Fire) refers to the annual ceremony at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, held the day before Orthodox Easter — in 2026, on April 11. During the ritual, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch enters the tomb of Christ and emerges with a "miraculous" flame, which is then spread among worshippers and flown to Orthodox countries such as Greece, Russia, and Georgia.
