In this Geometry Seminar talk, Alexander Elzenaar of Monash University investigates how Teichmueller spaces of hyperbolic 3-manifolds embed into the character variety of PSL(2,C), where the boundaries are fractal and generally not locally connected. He presents semi-algebraic approximations of these deformation spaces that yield certificates of discreteness for certain subgroups, with applications
