"Perkele" is a powerful Finnish profanity, originally derived from the name of an ancient Baltic-Finnic thunder god (Ukko's counterpart), later demonized as the devil when Finland was Christianized. Today it's famously one of the strongest and most iconic swear words in the Finnish language, often associated with expressing intense frustration.
