Der Mensch erscheint im Holozän
*Der Mensch erscheint im Holozän* (1979) is a novella by Swiss author Max Frisch about Herr Geiser, an elderly man in a Swiss mountain village, who—struggling with failing memory and fearing the onset of senility during a period of rain and isolation—compulsively looks up facts in an encyclopedia and collects notes in an attempt to hold onto his memory and identity.
