Weiberfasching (also called Weiberfastnacht or "Women's Carnival") is the traditional start of the street carnival season in Germany, celebrated on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. On this day, women playfully take charge—symbolically "cutting off" men's neckties, donning costumes, and enjoying festivities in the streets and pubs.
