"Der singende Knochen" (The Singing Bone) is a Grimm fairy tale in which a kind brother kills a dangerous boar, only to be murdered by his greedy brother, who claims the reward. Years later, a shepherd makes a flute (or mouthpiece) from a bone found in the sand—and it magically sings out the truth, revealing the murder and bringing the murderer to justice.
