"Spaziergang nach Syrakus" is a 2026 German film by Lars Jessen about Paul Gompitz, who in 1982 dreams of escaping the DDR to follow poet Johann Gottlieb Seume's footsteps to Syracuse, Sicily—but must plan to return home to his wife in Rostock.
