Waking Life
*Waking Life* is a 2001 animated film by Richard Linklater that follows a young man drifting through a series of dreamlike encounters, where various philosophers and strangers discuss consciousness, free will, existence, and the nature of dreams. Using rotoscoped animation, the film explores whether its protagonist is awake, dreaming, or perhaps trapped in a dream he cannot wake from.
