**Dornröschen** (Sleeping Beauty) is a classic fairy tale in which a princess falls into a hundred-year deep sleep after pricking her finger on a spindle, due to a curse placed on her by an angry fairy. She is eventually awakened by the kiss of a prince, who defeats the thorn hedge surrounding her castle and marries her.
