Early Return of Dependents
**Early Return of Dependents (ERD)** is a policy—commonly used by the U.S. military—that allows family members of a service member to be transported back to their home of record or an approved location at government expense before the member's permanent change of station (PCS) or assignment ends, typically in cases of family hardship, medical needs, or adverse living conditions.
