This is an opera performance of Jules Massenet's *Werther*, based on Goethe's novel about a young man whose obsessive, unrequited love for the already-engaged Charlotte drives him to despair and suicide, staged by director Felix Rothenhäusler with the singers performing intimately close to the audience.
