Barstow, California
This documentary by Rainer Komers offers an atmospheric portrait of Barstow, California, narrated through the voice of poet Stanley "Spoon" Jackson, who has served a life sentence since 1977. His brothers guide viewers through the desolate Mojave Desert landscape of his childhood, weaving themes of poverty, racism, and the American Dream—without Jackson ever appearing on screen.
