Waeldchestag
Wäldchestag is a traditional Frankfurt holiday celebrated on the Tuesday after Pentecost, when residents flock to the city's forest (particularly in Niederrad) for picnics, strolls, and festivities—so beloved that it's jokingly called "Frankfurt's national holiday," even though it's not an official public holiday and many shops in the city close anyway.
