**Nikolaus** (St. Nicholas Day) is a traditional German and European holiday celebrated on December 6th, honoring St. Nicholas, the bishop of Myra. Children place their boots or shoes outside their doors the night before, hoping to find them filled with sweets, chocolate, nuts, and small gifts in the morning—traditionally left by St. Nicholas for well-behaved children.
