Oresteia
The Oresteia is Aeschylus's ancient Greek tragic trilogy (c. 458 BCE) that follows the cursed House of Atreus, depicting Agamemnon's murder by his wife Clytemnestra, their son Orestes's revenge killing of his mother, and his eventual acquittal at Athena's court—ending the cycle of blood vengeance by transforming it into a system of civic justice.
