Gerhard Marcks
**Gerhard Marcks** refers to the German sculptor and ceramicist (1889–1981), best known for his figurative works and his role as a master at the Bauhaus school, whose birth anniversary was honored with a Google Doodle. The commemoration celebrates his contributions to modern art and his perseverance in creating work despite being labeled "degenerate" by the Nazi regime.
