Journalist, author, and translator Mareike Graepel, mother of two children, lives mainly on Achill Island in Ireland and in Haltern am See. She has written for local, regional, and national newspapers and magazines in both countries since her youth – first as a freelancer, then as an editor, and independently since 2017. Since early 2021 she has also reported on Ireland for the German press agency
