Dresden
The bombing of Dresden refers to a series of Allied air raids in February 1945 during World War II, in which British and American forces heavily bombed the German city of Dresden. The attacks killed roughly 25,000 people, destroyed much of the historic city center, and remain controversial due to the city's limited military significance and the war's nearing end.
