The Battle of Waterloo (June 18, 1815) was the decisive final battle of the Napoleonic Wars, in which Napoleon Bonaparte's French army was defeated by British forces under the Duke of Wellington and Prussian troops under Gebhard von Blücher. The defeat ended Napoleon's rule and led to his final exile to Saint Helena, reshaping the balance of power in Europe for decades.
