"Freiheit" (Freedom) is the memoir by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, published in November 2024. Co-written with her longtime adviser Beate Baumann, the book chronicles her life from growing up in East Germany to her 16 years leading Germany, covering major crises she navigated including the eurozone debt crisis, the refugee crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
