Dyke injection
Dyke injection refers to the process in which magma forces its way into vertical or near-vertical fractures in the Earth's crust, filling them to form sheet-like igneous intrusions called dykes. This event often occurs during volcanic unrest and can precede eruptions, as magma migrates from a deeper reservoir toward the surface.
