Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday, celebrated primarily on November 1–2, in which families honor and remember deceased loved ones by building altars (ofrendas) with photos, food, marigolds, and candles, welcoming their spirits back for a joyful reunion.
