Der Nussknacker
John Neumeier's "The Nutcracker" is a 1971 reimagining of Tchaikovsky's ballet that tells the story as Marie's coming-of-age journey into the world of art and theater, guided by ballet master Drosselmeier. Blending classical Petipa quotations with autobiographical elements, it explores artistic awakening and has become a modern classic.
