Samain
Samain (also spelled Samhain) was an ancient Celtic festival held around November 1st, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It was considered a liminal time when the boundary between the living and the spirit world was believed to be thin, and it later influenced the modern holiday of Halloween.
