Sachsenhausen
Sachsenhausen was a Nazi concentration camp established in 1936 near Oranienburg, Germany, just north of Berlin, where tens of thousands of prisoners—including political opponents, Jews, Soviet POWs, and others—were imprisoned, forced into labor, and killed. It was liberated by Soviet forces in April 1945 and later used as a Soviet internment camp until 1950.
